Our Mission
Rebel Fencing Club was founded in early 2025 when we realized our own kids weren’t getting the attention they needed at their previous club. Too often, young athletes are left on autopilot—just filling time instead of truly improving. We envisioned something different: a place where each child gets the coaching and support they deserve.
More than just a fencing club, Rebel is a community. We believe in knowing each fencer by name, building friendships, and having fun while working hard. Our mission is to help kids get better—not just at fencing, but at confidence, focus, and enjoying the journey.
And that’s how Rebel Fencing Club was born.
Our
Coach
One of the biggest challenges in modern sabre fencing is the lack of quality, consistent coaching. Not every coach can connect with their fencers—whether due to language barriers, mismatched coaching styles, or simply a lack of engagement.

Chris Cheney
Coach Chris Cheney brings over two decades of national and international fencing experience, with a deep passion for developing athletes of all levels. As Head Coach at Rebel Fencing Club, he combines technical expertise with a personalized, athlete-centered approach that focuses on both progress and enjoyment.
Chris has coached at some of the top fencing programs across the country and brings unmatched energy to the strip. Whether you’re working toward your first medal or competing at the national level, his goal is to guide every fencer toward their fullest potential.

Our Facilities
Proper fencing instruction begins with the right environment. At Rebel Fencing Club, we take cleanliness, safety, and professionalism seriously to ensure every athlete can train at their best.
Our space currently features three full-size aluminum fencing pistes, along with two additional unofficial strips for drills and warmups. We’re also planning to expand soon, adding five more full-size official strips to accommodate our growing community.
The facility is equipped with modern HVAC for year-round comfort, and there’s plenty of free parking. We offer snacks and drinks for our fencers—and coffee for the tired parents! We also provide two dedicated study areas, because we believe academic success is just as important as athletic growth.
